To attract and inspire students of diverse ethnicities, genders, abilities and sexual orientations to seek careers in CRE and to help them build connections that will facilitate their path in finding desirable positions after graduating from college.

Program Overview

The NAIOP Diversity & Inclusion College Fellowship Program is a resource for current college students, NAIOP student members, and college students who have been placed in a summer internship with NAIOP-member CRE companies. This program is a platform for interns of diverse ethnicities, genders, abilities and sexual orientations to interact more closely with NAIOP, to connect with peers, and to experience the breadth of the CRE industry. By providing an additional support resource for NAIOP member companies, we aim to enhance the fellows’ summer experiences and bring them together with other diverse college students. The more we can enhance the fellow experience, the more likely students are to seek full-time employment in the industry.

During the program, participating students will virtually meet 4 times with D&I Committee members to discuss their career goals, learn about job opportunities in CRE, hear from CRE professionals, and develop deeper connections with industry professionals and their peers.

Participating fellows & NAIOP student members must commit to attending all 4 events (5th event TBD) unless pardoned otherwise. Each participant is responsible for scheduling 1:1 meetings with each individual small group member and mentor at least 1x during the program. Calls will be 30 minutes each.

No cost to fellowship program participants or NAIOP member companies. The program is being provided thanks to the NAIOP Diversity & Inclusion sponsors and the NAIOP Washington Foundation. NAIOP member companies with participating interns must agree to compensate their fellows for their time spent attending NAIOP D&I Fellowship Program events as outlined in below schedule.
