Finalists and Hall of Fame Honoree Announced for 2015 NAIOP Washington State Night of the Stars, Honoring Local Real Estate Projects and Companies

Walter P. “Wally” Costello to be honored as 2015 Hall of Fame inductee in recognition of outstanding leadership and service to the local community.

SEATTLE – Announced today, finalists for NAIOP Washington State’s 2015 Night of the Stars Awards include dozens of well-known commercial real estate players, breakthrough deals and important development projects. NAIOP’s Night of the Stars identifies outstanding real estate developments and activities in a variety of market types and the individuals who conceived of, took risks, sponsored, supported and made the projects happen. The awards aim to honor entire teams, including all who contributed to the project’s success in this annual celebration of the industry.

“The Northwest commercial real estate community looks to the annual NAIOP Night of the Stars Awards program to see who is performing at the top of the industry,” says Sharon Coleman, Senior Director of Real Estate Development, Vulcan Real Estate, and NAIOP Washington State President. “This peer-nominated and judged program sets the standard for a very high-performing industry for the year to come.”

In addition to nominated projects, each year, an individual who has made outstanding contributions to the industry is selected for induction into the NAIOP Washington State Hall of Fame. This year, Walter P. Costello will be honored in recognition of his contributions to the community through his years at The Quadrant Corporation, as an active NAIOP member and his civic engagement in Seattle, Bellevue and King County.

At Quadrant, Wally was involved in the development and planning of more than five million square feet of office, high tech and industrial buildings, as well as the planning and development of a number of business parks throughout the Puget Sound area ranging in size from 20 to 350 acres. With NAIOP, Wally served on the board and as president, leading and encouraging others to participate in government affairs and community enhancement projects in particular.

A record number of nominations were submitted this year. Each project was evaluated for their impact on the community, market adaptability, ingenuity and local contributions. Winners will be announced at the November 6 gala event at the Hyatt Regency Bellevue.
